The school is made up of six full time teachers, principal, two support teachers, reading recovery teacher, administration officer and a caretaker. There is a real sense of responsibility and partnership amongst all staff and everyone contributes to the success of Tairua School.
Constantly building creativity and leadership
Tairua School is constantly in a state of change and self reflection. We are focused on developing the school’s profile within the community, updating buildings and resources, enhancing teaching practice and professional development and raising student achievement in all areas of the school curriculum.
The school’s learning environment fosters a deep respect and care of the environment and openly promotes recycling, reusing and sustainability. What we do every day is purposeful and makes a difference in the lives of our students and community. As a school community we are committed to developing ‘The Tairua School Citizen’, a graduate profile that the students, teachers, parents and wider community have co-constructed to prepare our students for society.
